ahmedabad/interlude/interlude
the idea for this saucer without a cup came from watching indians
pour their too hot chai from the cup into the saucer,
have it cool down a little, then drink.
impractical but certainly ingenious, I thought.
so I made a deep saucer to tackle the problem.
my piece went to a farmer in the village of pindarda, near ahmedabad.
when I visited, he proceeded to make tea and inaugurated the design
without hesitation
porcelain dish with clear glaze made from feldspar, reed ash and apple wood ash
